Software Craftsman, Artist, Designer, Lifelong Learner #
I am located at the edge of Charlotte, NC with my wife and our Son lives close by in the city.
From 2001 to 2022, I was a full-time freelancer in the web space. I have been lucky enough to work on a lot of fun projects for a great list of clients - some of which I still do work for. I initially started freelancing as a designer for print/web, logos and illustration. The web projects evolved into frontend development and later into backend development which lead me to where I am today as a weird kind of full stack Python/Django developer. I am a odd flavor of full stack developer in that I add a professional level of design and illustration to my skillset. Currently, I am building tools at NANOG to power conferences and doing some light freelance work for a select few clients.
What I work with on a Regular Basis #
- Python, Django
- Javascript, React, AlpineJS, HTMX
- Tailwind,
Bootstrap - Emacs, Orgmode, elisp
Photoshop, Illustrator, LightroomAffinity, Capture One Pro
Notable Logos #
I have done many logos over the years for clients. Below are a few of my favorites, including the widely used and recognizable Orgmode logo.
Miscellany #
When not writing code, I run regularly, read a lot, study classical guitar, take a lot of pictures, spend time with my wife and White German Shepherd, Gage and work in my Art Studio.
The background image on the home page was taken when we were in St. George, Utah for the Ironman championships a few years ago.
